Thursday eve

Today is lunch bunch day for Sean so he stays after school for about 2 hours to eat lunch (which is not part of his normal school day) and get some much needed running around/burning off of excess energy in the gym area.
Thursday is also the day I volunteer in Jackson's class. Today my job was to use a very retro-looking die cut machine to cut out hundreds of paper hearts. I was hoping I could double up the paper to make the process speedier but that was a mistake. The machine didn't do so well with more than one piece of paper. I ended up doing a lot of manual cutting since the machine didn't cut the hearts all the way through. Each time I cut the hearts, I had to swing the metal lever back and forth about three times. I could feel a blister forming on my hand as I continued cutting the hearts. I found myself wondering if I could just run over to Michael and pick up a package of pre-cut hearts...
Part two of my volunteer time was asking all the kids to describe their dads in a few words. This is part of an upcoming Dad day at the school. Many answers were what you might expect..i.e. likes baseball, basketball, etc. . Jackson said "my dad is a good tickler, likes golf and legos" and one girl immediately said, "my dad likes really spicy peppers!".
By the time I left school , there wasn't enough time to do my list of 4 or 5 errands...but there never really is enough time to do it all. I did manage to make it down to Silverado to pick up the necklace that Jim gave me for Christmas. I wanted a clasp added since it had a very loose hook that I was sure would come undone the first time I wore it. They sent it out with the jewelry repair person and I have to say it looks great. I thought they would just add a little metal hook, but they actually welded a new part on to the necklace so it looks like it was there all along. As soon as I figure out how to post photos , I'll include a photo of it.
Time to make dinner...I need to figure out how to make Caesar salad dressing since the member of the house who usually makes it (Jim) is running late.
