Hello Old Blog!

Its been a while since the blog was updated. Honestly I kind of forgot I had a blog!

Since I last wrote, Jackson graduated and went off to Cal Poly! Sean is in his senior year! We have a new dog...Lucy! And there was a pandemic!! So much to catch up on....

We are all doing well and intend to keep blogging but this may migrate to a different space since as of Fall 2022 WE ARE EMPTY NESTERS!!!!!! I will always be "K and the boys" but since the boys will be moving on to other adventures, I may need to shift the focus to the next chapter. For now I'm going to work on getting updated photos of our life here in Oregon, where we are having a ridiculously rainy Spring and almost every one of Sean's tennis practices and matches has been canceled. On the bright side, everything looks lush and green but the lack of sun is starting to become bothersome. Looking forward to some real Spring weather very soon!!

More lovely Hood River views.

Thumbs up for dinner out at The Woodsman Tavern.
Me riding in the backseat while Jackson drives!!

Found our tree in 5 minutes...that's what happens when it's 40 degrees and pouring rain.

Snow and other things

From our after-Christmas trip to Hood River.

After dinner snow adventures.

Skiing through the neighborhood.

Rare moment of stillness for this crazy dog.

Outdoor swimming. Luckily there's a hot tub right next to the pool!

Bluebird day on Mt. Hood.

Epic nap.

This winter has been interesting....many days of snow and icy roads which has lead to 9 (NINE) days of school closings. Fortunately, the boys were able to get out in the snow and sled and walk to Starbucks, etc. so I don't think missing school was a problem for them. I also was able to cross country ski right in our neighborhood, which was lots of fun.  Because the school was closed the pool was closed as well, so we had to figure out ways to get in swim workouts. Luckily, our gym was open and as crazy as it sounds, there's an outdoor pool which is  open year round. So a few workouts were held with mom as Coach. Overall, it went okay, with perhaps a tad more complaining than usual.

Lucy has taken all the weather ups and downs in stride and played hard and also napped hard after some romping in the snow.
Boys have made it up to Mt. Hood several times for some great skiing. They are both so much better than me it's ridiculous!

Ye Old Neglected Blog

I don't even know where I left off so I'll just do the usual photographic journey of the winter so far....

November took us to Utah. Bryce Canyon was a favorite stop for sure. We timed it just right...new snow and blue skies. The light there is stunning.

A visit to the old stomping grounds in Park City.

Married here many (17) years ago. The poor sign needs a little TLC!

Downtown stroll. Nothing was open so we walked a long time before finding an open restaurant.

The top of the Snowbird tram. Very cold up there!!

December: picking out a tree. I could probably fill a whole album of the shots like these...Jim Walking With Sons. They are almost as tall as him!

2016's Christmas tree!

The baking begins.

Not baking but assembling (while eating copious amounts of candy and somehow thinking I don't notice).

Snowy scooter rides.

Sledding with friends down the middle of the street because no one was out driving.

Making buckeyes during a sledding break.

My annual Christmas Girlfriend's Gathering.

Baking with Gram and Pop.

Making cannoli.

Christmas morning obligatory stair photo.

Final result...delicious!

Post Christmas museum visit.

Post Christmas exercise. I'm not sure what Lucy is doing.

Post exercise nap.

Christmas dinner....and hats from Christmas crackers.

Lucy in the snow.

NYE caviar...as you do when you're a teenager... friends of ours were kind enough to share care package from a fancy French store.
