Ye Old Neglected Blog

I don't even know where I left off so I'll just do the usual photographic journey of the winter so far....

November took us to Utah. Bryce Canyon was a favorite stop for sure. We timed it just right...new snow and blue skies. The light there is stunning.

A visit to the old stomping grounds in Park City.

Married here many (17) years ago. The poor sign needs a little TLC!

Downtown stroll. Nothing was open so we walked a long time before finding an open restaurant.

The top of the Snowbird tram. Very cold up there!!

December: picking out a tree. I could probably fill a whole album of the shots like these...Jim Walking With Sons. They are almost as tall as him!

2016's Christmas tree!

The baking begins.

Not baking but assembling (while eating copious amounts of candy and somehow thinking I don't notice).

Snowy scooter rides.

Sledding with friends down the middle of the street because no one was out driving.

Making buckeyes during a sledding break.

My annual Christmas Girlfriend's Gathering.

Baking with Gram and Pop.

Making cannoli.

Christmas morning obligatory stair photo.

Final result...delicious!

Post Christmas museum visit.

Post Christmas exercise. I'm not sure what Lucy is doing.

Post exercise nap.

Christmas dinner....and hats from Christmas crackers.

Lucy in the snow.

NYE caviar...as you do when you're a teenager... friends of ours were kind enough to share care package from a fancy French store.

Pictures tell the story

Reading at the automotive store.

Skipping stones.

Random after dinner shot...look at that sky!

I had no idea Sean took this with my phone.

Hike with friends in the Gorge.

After a week long field trip at the coast, this is what happens on the ride home.

This is also what happens after the field trip.

Portland's Japanese Garden.

The boys.

Investigating mail from Coach.

Kicking off summer!

Hermanos.

The usual photo update

Climbing on things in Seattle

Walking home after dinner, also Seattle

Morning at the hotel which had an amazing restaurant.

Seattle Art Museum. Very nice!

Top Golf.

Indoor Skydiving!

Last XC ski of the season.

April?? Hard to believe it was warm enough to be on the water. It should be noted the water is still very cold.

VooDoo Donut. Jackson played soccer right next to this famous PDX donut shop so we had to go.

Not pictured: endless loads of laundry, the daily afternoon drive to Sean's bus stop, to swim practice, to Jackson's soccer practice, back to soccer, back to swim, keeping Lucy fed and exercised or she'll find things to chew on (mostly toilet paper)....I could go on. I feel like a blog is a place to share our high points but then it doesn't fully reflect our lives with all the worry, grumpy days, school struggles, etc.  Overall, things really are good. But it should be noted that the angst-y moments  aren't depicted here. I'm not sure what those photos would look like anyway. Could be interesting. I could start with photos of the boys rooms in the natural state(!).
Maybe the blog is a good reminder to focus on the happy moments because that's truly what gets us through the bad days.

Things happening lately

Jackson and I went cross country skiing.

The entire fam on the chairlift!

Rainy winter nights.

Portland Auto Show...or the chance to sit in cars you won't ever actually buy because they're ridiculously expensive.

Beautiful scenes from the drive home from skiing.

Sean on the court.
